Thomas C. O’Keefe is a Partner at Dudley Newman Feuerzeig, LLP and focuses his practice on transactional matters.
Mr. O’Keefe provides comprehensive business law services to the firm’s banking, insurance, franchise, and trademark clients, including negotiating commercial contracts, structuring tax-exempt financings with Government agencies, and participating in international and local closings with off-island counsel in a variety of industries. His representative clients include business entities with a focus in real estate development, financial services, energy, legislative activities, telecommunications, and equipment and infrastructure financing, among others.
Before moving to the U.S. Virgin Islands in the 1990s, Mr. O’Keefe was an associate in the New York office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher, where he practiced in the area of securities litigation. From 1979-1989 he served as the General Counsel to the Comptroller of the City of New York and his Representative on the Board of Estimate.
Mr. O’Keefe is admitted to practice in New York and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and is an active member of the bars of both jurisdictions.
While at Cornell Law School, Mr. O’Keefe was the Articles Editor of the Cornell Law Review and authored “Time Controls on Land Use,” 57 Cornell L. Rev, 827, 1972. He was also the winner of the Cornell Sutherland Cup Moot Court Competition and the American Trial Lawyers Association Essay Contest.
